AmaZulu’s recent frustrating run of results has forced coach Benni McCarthy to look for new players as the team struggles to get back to winning ways.

Usuthu have gone four games without a win having drawn three and lost one.
A frustrated McCarthy, speaking after the midweek stalemate against SuperSport United, hinted that he will have a meeting with club chairperson Sandile Zungu about acquiring a targetman.

“With the transfer window open I hope the president can see that there’s a necessity to add new players,” McCarthy said.
“The squad is good but there’s a piece of the puzzle that is missing and hopefully we can go into the market to get someone who wants to take leadership in this team and go win games for us.
“As coaches we must work with frustrations, and that’s how it is,” Benni McCarthy lamented.

McCarthy has already released Somila Ntsundwana to Richards Bay on loan.
AmaZulu find themselves down in 10th place in the standings after 12 matches, a far cry from the top 4 position McCarthy spoke about achieving at his unveiling at the club.
AmaZulu will next be in action against eighth-placed Baroka FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, 23 January.
Kick-off is at 17:00.
