Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane has reflected on his side’s disappointing draw against National Bank on Sunday.

Al Ahly stumbled somewhat after only drawing 0-0, dropping two points against the newly-promoted side over the weekend.
That result has opened the door for Al Ahly’s bitter rivals Zamalek to take over top spot in the Egyptian Premier League.
The draw was Al Ahly’s second in the league this season after dropping points against Wadi Degla in the fourth round of matches.
However, according to the KingFut website, an upbeat Mosimane said post-match that Al Ahly played well and created chances, but luck wasn’t on their side.

“We tried to score an early goal, but we were not lucky with the opportunities we had and it just wasn’t our day,” Mosimane said.
“The entire game was played in the opponent’s half and Mohamed El-Shenawy [Al Ahly goalkeeper] didn’t need to make any saves.
“The crosses we made were not executed properly and lacked the right elevation on them due to the players being pressed by the opposition.
“Overall, we only have ourselves to blame as we wasted many opportunities through Badr Benoun, Walter Bwalya, Aliou Dieng, and Hamdi Fathi.
“I am not worried about the team’s form as long as we create a lot of chances,” Mosimane added.
Stats show that Al Ahly overwhelmingly bosses the possession (77%-23%), corners (7-0), passes (679-211) and had 31 shots compared to just two by National Bank.
But a draw is a draw no matter what the stats show.
Al Ahly have 17 log points, one point more than Zamalek who have a game in hand.
The Red Devils will next be in action against 17th-placed Al Mokawloon on Thursday, 21 January.
Kick-off is at 17:00 SA time.
