Kaizer Chiefs academy star James McFarlane has tragically passed on after being involved in a devastating motor-vehicle accident on Thursday night.
James McFarlane, 18-years-old, was the captain of the Kaizer Chiefs under-17 academy team before making the jump to the reserve side this year. McFarlane was also a regular for national under-17 side, the Amajimbos.

James McFarlane passes on aged 18
McFarlane’s death was confirmed by his managing agency, Siyavuma Sports Group, on Friday 06 November. A statement released by the sports management agency regarding the death of the Kaizer Chiefs star read:
“It’s with a very heavy heart that we advise that James McFarlane, Kaizer Chiefs U19 and SA national U17 team player has passed away in a tragic accident. We have lost one of our family.”
“Our hearts go out to his family, friends and to those of his companions who also tragically lost their life’s. We will miss you James, May your soul Rest In Peace. SSG “Leaders of African Football”.”
