The two players who tested positive last week were not part of the group tested and remain in isolation and are being monitored closely. They are reported to be progressing well and are in good health.

The Proteas conducted their fourth and final round of testing on Thursday morning with the results expected on Thursday evening.

CSA’s Chief Medical Officier, Dr Shuaib Manjra, confirmed that if any player – from either the Proteas or the England squad – tests positive on Thursday, the opening T20 will in all likelihood be cancelled.

In other Proteas news, all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius has been ruled out of the England tour due to a hamstring injury.

Pretorius’ injury occurred during a team practice session at Newlands and is expected to take three to four weeks to heal. No replacement will be summoned.

Meanwhile, South Africa ‘A’ coach, Malibongwe Maketa, has joined the Proteas camp as extra cover to assist the team.

The Proteas v England tour will consist of three T20 Internationals and three One-Day Internationals in Cape Town and Paarl.
