Newly-appointed AmaZulu coach Benni McCarthy has hinted he won’t be too active in the next transfer window as he goes about achieving the goals he has set out.
MCCARTHY REPLACED AYANDA DLAMINI AS COACH
The ambitious KwaZulu-Natal side have made a number of additions to both their squad and management team of late, least of all the signing of former Bafana Bafana legend Benni McCarthy.
McCarthy replaced former coach Ayanda Dlamini.
In terms of new personal, Usuthu have snapped up, among others, Phakamani Mahlambi, Xola Mlambo, Siphiwe Tshabalala and Luvuyo Memela.
“Obviously in a short space of time you can’t just give an assessment on transfers, and I’m not that quick in diving into the transfer market,” McCarthy said after securing victory in his first match in charge against Chippa United.
“I think we have a big squad. If I call myself a coach, I should make these players better instead of looking to buy a finished product. I can make the good players we already have a finished product.
