Kaizer Chiefs head coach Gavin Hunt was left baffled with his side’s performance in their goalless CAF Champions League draw against PWD Bamenda over the weekend.
Bamenda arrived in South Africa just hours before kick-off due to visa and COVID-19 delays and many expected Kaizer Chiefs to put their jetlagged opponents to the sword however, the Amakhosi’s performance left much to be desired.
Despite proceeding to the next round courtesy of a 1-0 on aggregate victory, Gavin Hunt could not find an explanation for Kaizer Chiefs’ disappointing performance on the night.

Gavin Hunt claimed that Kaizer Chiefs’ goal scoring crisis is the worst he’s ever seen in over 30-years of coaching.
“Disappointing game, you can’t be missing the chances we get and the opportunity we get in front of goals, in all my 30 years of coaching I have never seen anything like it. So it is disappointing but the most important thing is to get through it.” Hunt said as quoted by SoccerLaduma.
“The chances we created, the score could have been whatever, we had so many opportunities, the second half the same and you got to score, we are not scoring so it has been a problem the whole season and you can not expect to keep clean sheets every week if you are not scoring the goals with the chances we had.
“Disappointed because we expect a little bit more but it is what it is. I take nothing out of this game, we just go to the next game and try and go far from there.”
Kaizer Chiefs next turn their attention to Black Leopards who they face on Wednesday night in a DStv Premiership clash at the FNB Stadium.
The match was originally scheduled for Tuesday night however due to the delay in their CAF Champions League clash over the weekend, the PSL have allowed for an additional rest day for Kaizer Chiefs before tackling Lidoda Duvha.
