Cavin Johnson will be standing in for Pitso Mosimane as Al Ahly head coach tonight when they host Ghazl Al Mahallah in an Egyptian Premier League clash.

This comes just days after Pitso Mosimane tested positive for COVID-19. Al Ahly confirmed that the former Mamelodi Sundowns mentor along with his wife have tested positive for the deadly disease and will be placed in isolation until he recovers.

Pitso Mosimane revealed via his Twitter account that he is waiting for the results of x-rays while adding that he’s under the guidance of medical professionals in Egypt.

“Evening everybody, just went for X-rays and will get the advice from the Doctors tomorrow. Thanks for all the good wishes. Inshallah, I will be back soon,”

“The South African manager is therefore expected to be sidelined for the upcoming two weeks, the standard time for full recovery from COVID-19. As a result, his assistant manager Cavin Johnson will be the main man on the bench during their Friday night encounter against Ghazl El-Mahalla.”
