The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has changed the mid-season transfer window dates for the current DStv Premiership campaign.
TRANSFER WINDOW BROUGHT FORWARD BY 2 WEEKS
On Thursday the PSL confirmed they had agreed to a request made by defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns to have the transfer window brought forward by two weeks.
The Brazilians, who are set to compete in the CAF Champions League, wrote to the PSL, asking to have the domestic registration period aligned to that of the continental competition.
This request has now been granted after the South African Football Association (SAFA) in turn wrote to FIFA to have the change effected in the international body’s Transfer Management System.

“The second transfer window of the 2020/21 domestic season will now commence on 18 January 2021 until 15 February 2021,” read a statement from the PSL.
“Initially, the second registration period (transfer window) was scheduled for 01 February 2021 until 01 March 2021.
“The amendment was necessitated by the need to accommodate Member Clubs that have qualified to participate in the CAF Interclub Competitions, and further to provide all Member Clubs and players with a degree of flexibility in the transfer market by enabling them to participate in the universal January window period.”
Other DStv Premiership clubs in CAF action this season are Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Bloemfontein Celtic.
Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs are in CAF Champions League action, while Pirates and Celtic will vie for the title in the CAF Confederation Cup.
