The Sharks have received a massive injury boost ahead of their top-of-the-table Currie Cup clash against the Bulls in Durban.

OUT SINCE OCTOBER WITH A HAND INJURY

Captain Lukhanyo Am has rejoined training and is in line to resume skipper duties on Saturday.

Am has been out of action since October after he suffered a hand injury, but was back at training this week as the Sharks prepare for their match against the table-topping Pretoria side.

Meanwhile, there was further good news for all Sharks fans as Am was just one of several players coach Sean Everitt has welcomed back after their bye weekend.

Henco Venter, James Venter, Phepsi Buthelezi, Sikhumbuzo Notshe and Celimpilo Gumede have all returned from Covid-19 isolation.

The Sharks have also been boosted at tighthead prop as John-Hubert Meyer and Michael Kumbirai have rejoined training while Thomas du Toit could also feature against the Bulls.

EIGHT POINTS CLEAR AT THE TOP OF THE LOG

The Bulls are currently eight points clear of the second-placed Sharks who do have a game in hand.

While the Bulls appear odds-on favourites to finish in the top two and host a semi-final, the match has extra importance for the Sharks who have WP, the Lions and Cheetahs all breathing down their necks.

Kick-off on Saturday is at 19:00.
