The defender joined Kaizer Chiefs in 2018 from Buya Msutha however he made just one appearance for the club in the CAF Confederations Cup during a 3-1 loss against Zesco United.

He was later axed by Kaizer Chiefs in 2019 and failed to find a new club to date. His frustrations have since led him to a completely new career path

Letlhogonolo Mirwa confirmed that he has undertaken a new journey in life following his short but disappointing professional football career at Kaizer Chiefs. The North West born defender has opted to study teaching.

“I’m busy with school these days, studying education, teaching. I started this year actually. This is what I’m going to do for these next days. Most of the time I will just do the long distance online learning, so I think that’s what everybody does.” the former Kaizer Chiefs defender told Kick-Off.

“Due to Covid-19 we are not going to participate in sports activities [amateur football] until we are allowed. So in the meantime I’m just studying. I love geography so I think I’m going to focus on that and physical science probably, and economics.

“It will have to be a degree because I’m going to invest so much time in it, I think three years. I haven’t retired, it’s just that I haven’t had an opportunity to play you understand. I do understand that someday things will be different though.”

Mirwa joined Kaizer Chiefs in 2018 alongside a number of high-profile players like Khama Billiat, Dax Adrianarimanana, Lebogang Manyama, Godfrey Walusimbi and Mario Booysen. He unfortunately failed to crack it at the Amakhosi however his new profession will ultimately see him play a major part in shaping the future of the country.
