The Pharaohs arrived the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Tuesday night and were immediately whisked away into a waiting team bus, which drove them to Villa Rosa Kempinski, a few metres from the city centre in Nairobi.

Fans who were waiting to receive the players were left puzzled at the airport when extra security [four strong men in black] swung into action immediately Salah came out and was heading into the waiting bus.

The four men surrounded him as they protected the striker from even taking selfies with the waiting fans.

However, an exclusive report confirm that an extra security was assigned to the striker via the Egyptian Embassy in Kenya.

“Ahead of their trip to Kenya, the national association reached out to the Egyptian Embassy in Kenya and requested to make sure they provide enough security specifically for the player [Salah] and it was granted,” an anonymous source from the Egyptian Embassy said.

The source did not give additional details as to why the association only selected extra security for Salah despite the presence of other star players such as Mohamed Elneny who features for Arsenal, and Mahmoud Trezeguet of Aston Villa also from the Premier League.

“The request we know was only made for Mohamed [Salah], I don’t know about the rest or any other player,” the source further explained.

The Pharaohs only need a draw to officially qualify for the next year event in Cameroon.
