Everyone and their mother are familiar with Tekno Miles. An acclaimed musician that has collaborated with Hollywood superstars like Drake, Beyonce and Ciara. His social media presence is also blowing up, and he has become a brand ambassador for many famous brands, including Bitcasino. Tekno Miles is the official brand ambassador who further boosted the popularity of the casino, which accepts crypto payments. 

But, as one could expect, his rise to fame wasn’t smooth. If you’re wondering how Tekno Miles became a household name in the Nigerian music scene, in this article, we will cover some of the most important facts about his journey to fame.  

Humble Beginnings 

Tekno Miles’s dad worked for the Nigerian Army, which means that the family moved a lot across Nigeria and lived in Kaduna, Nassarawa, and Abuja. He was born on December 17, 1992, and from a young age, he learned to appreciate Nigerian traditional music and culture and started music lessons when he was eight years old. There he learned how to play the piano and the guitar. 

Early Career 

It’s not true to say that Tekno Miles has had it easy from the get-go, but actually he was scouted by K-Money Entertainment which is how he got his first break in the industry. His first single was Halliday, released in 2013 million. In fact, it got massive radio play and attracted the first fans of Tekno Miles.  

The second break time from singing at a prestigious event, the song Onye Ne Kwu, attracted the attention of the famous actor Julius Agwu who introduced him to the executives of Made Men Music group, Iyanya and Ubi, who saw his potential for a global career and actually encouraged him to move to Lagos.  

In 2012 he moved to Made Men Music Group record label, where he worked on a new single, Dance and Anything, and a compilation album – The Evolution. This single led him to the “Best New act of the Year award in 2014. 

However, what drove him closer to the dream of global fame was the release of the song Duro which reached the five spots on Capital XTRA’s Afro beats. It propelled his brand to the international music scene and got him mentioned in the top ten hip-hop and R&B talents in the United States in 2017 by Billboard.  

Famous Collaborations 

Tekno Miles, at the height of his fame, worked with famous American singer Ciara on the song Freak Me in 2019. He also collaborated with Drake as a producer on his single Won’t Be Late’ by Swae Lee, and one of his major recent achievements was his song on the soundtrack of Beyoncé’s The Lion King: The Gift, the song Don’t Jealous Me.  

Their famous collabs and great songs eventually put him on the radar of the renowned Universal Music Group Nigeria (UMGN), which is a division of Universal Music Group in charge of West Africa. He signed with them in 2018 and two years later released the critically acclaimed album Old Romance. 

Final Thoughts  

Tekno’s star power took him globally. He has received many accolades for his music and recently released his debut album, Old Romance, to raving reviews. Some of the awards are Best Single of the Year in 2017, Best International Act Africa, African Video of the Year, and many other awards. With all that being said, it’s safe to say that he will become even more successful in the future as he moved to the USA recently to work on his international music career.
