Rumours on social media that Langerman had in fact died were dispelled and he is in in line to play for the Brazilians on Saturday.
A source confirmed to the Soccer Laduma website that Langerman was in the passenger seat and the car in which he was travelling was not his.
Recent months have proven tragic for Mamelodi Sundowns.
Gift Motupa survived a car accident in November, but Anele Ngcongca, who was due to join AmaZulu on loan, died in a motor vehicle accident the same month. In December, defender Motjeka Madisha also died in an accident.
In Tebogo Langerman’s case, he was back at training with the club this week and is available for selection for the Tshwane derby against SuperSport United on Saturday, 16 January.
