Mamelodi Sundowns welcome Bloemfontein Celtic to the Lucas Moripe Stadium for their opening PSL game of the 2020/21 campaign in the form of a MTN8 clash.
The two teams closed out the 2019/20 campaign after facing off in the Nedbank Cup final with Mamelodi Sundowns claiming a 1-0 victory thanks to a well composed Gaston Sirino finish on the night. It’s a new season and a new competition in the form of the MTN8 tonight but a victory for either team remains the priority.
Mamelodi Sundowns will undoubtedly be keen to see how they fare under the new managerial trio of Manqoba Mngqithi, Rhulani Mokwena and Steve Komphela. This comes following the abrupt departure of Pitso Mosimane after a highly successful spell at the club.
The previous 79 meetings between Sundowns and Bloemfontein Celtic have seen the defending league champions walk away with 43 wins while Phunya Sele Sele have earned just 16 wins. The remaining 20 clashes ended in a draw.
