Al Ahly fans have rallied behind head coach Pitso Mosimane and his squad as they prepare for the belated 2019/20 CAF Champions League final against fellow Egyptian side, Zamalek.

AL AHLY FANS HAVE CAUGHT ‘PITSO FEVER’

In what has been dubbed as the ‘Derby of the Century’, the Red Devils’ faithful appear to have caught ‘Pitso fever’ after his perfect start to life in Cairo.

Since replacing Rene Weiler, Mosimane has overseen six wins and one draw, including a 5-1 aggregate thumping of Wydad Casablanca in their two-legged Champions League semi-final.

With over 70 million fans backing the record eight-time African champions in their pursuit of a ninth star, a number of those fans gathered outside Mokhtar El Tetsh to display their support for the former Mamelodi Sundowns boss.

According to the KickOff website, in what was the final public viewing before closed training camps, the squad underwent Covid-19 tests which saw veteran playmaker Walid Soliman tested positive.

TWO MORE POSITIVE TESTS AND THE MATCH COULD BE OFF

After Mahmoud Kahraba and Saleh Gomaa both were ruled out due to the coronavirus, it’s believed that the inter-club committee could postpone the CAF Champions League final – which is scheduled for Friday at the Cairo International Stadium – should Al Ahly confirm two more positive cases.

Should the match go ahead, kick-off will be at 21:00 SA time.
